Te Awamutu Primary School - Kia Kaha - Be Strong

Mrs Griffiths

11 November 2019 - 14 November 2019

Do you use a scooter or a bike at school?  Do you ever ride them home?  Then this message is for you.

We have had a concern raised from a member of the public about our students dangerously zooming down the footpaths on bikes and scooters on their way home from school.  Some TAPS students are not even wearing helmets.

Be reminded that using your bike or scooter at school is a privilege that can be taken away. Helmets MUST be worn at all times - it is LAW in NZ.

Bikes are not supposed to be ridden on footpaths either so if you are using them, you should be careful, look out for people walking, and look out for cars coming out of driveways.

We will be putting some spys out looking for any dangerous behaviour on bikes and scooters leaving the school grounds and those people can expect to be banned from bringing them to school.

Let's show our neighbours and community how responsible we are!
