I was elected to the board in May 2007 and elected as chair in May 2008 a position that I held until My 2011 when I passed the reigns over to Alan Taylor due to work commitments. I am married to Joyce and we have three children, Hannah (12), Emma (10) & Hayden (8). We have lived in Te Awamutu for 6yrs. Born and raised on a dairy farm at Kaihere on the Hauraki Plains and have spent 98% of my working life in the Waikato (2 yrs in Gisborne). I am a qualified Plumber/Gasfitter by trade however I have been off the tools for approx 5yrs. I am currently employed by the Dept Of Corrections at Waikeira Prison as a Facilities Manager. In this role I am responsible for a team of 7. We manage all buildings, land and services at the Waikeria site. Interests:
Surfing, you will find me out in the water at Raglan most Sunday mornings.
Motor sport, I crew for a number of rally cars including a car in the New Zealand rally champs. I also co-drive when I get the chance. Personal statement:
I am honoured to be an elected rep on the BOT. I see this role as critical in the success of our school and the learning out comes of our children. Our kids are our future and their learning is paramount in all we do on the BOT. I want to create an environment where all, management, staff and children feel welcome and are able to be the best that they can be.
