I am the Learning Support Coordinator at Te Awamutu Primary School and I am also a primary trained teacher who has been in teaching for over 25 years, both in N.Z. and the U.K.
I am extremely passionate about supporting those students who have specific needs or difficulties with learning. I enjoy problem solving and advocating for these students to ensure that they have the best support we can access. I thoroughly enjoy and celebrate all the tiny milestones they make, as in their lives these are huge.
I was born in the U.K and immigrated to N.Z. with my family when I was a toddler. I had the wonderful opportunity to return to the U.K.when I was 12 and reconnect with my large whanau. That inspired my love of travel and in my mid twenties I travelled the world on my own for 5 years before meeting my N.Z. husband Garrick in London. We have 4 children, 2 boys; Damon and Aidan and twin identical girls; Jasmine and Lily-Rose as well as a little dog called Syd. Our boys are now in tertiary education and our girls are navigating high school.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, watching movies, walking, visiting the beach and travelling, whether it be in N.Z. or somewhere new overseas.
